Sheridan has been awarded a grant to implement an accelerated training program at its Wisconsin facilities in Random Lake and Stevens Point.

Random Lake and Stevens Point, WI – May 13, 2025 – Sheridan, a leader in the printing and publishing industry, is proud to announce a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to employee development and industry innovation. Thanks to the vision and leadership of Joe Dunlap, Sheridan’s Director of Training and Development, the company has been awarded a grant from the Wisconsin Fast Forward program through Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development to implement an accelerated training program at its Wisconsin facilities in Random Lake and Stevens Point.

The grant will fund a next-level initiative designed to “fast-track” 40 employees into skilled press and binder roles within an accelerated timeline of approximately 12 months. Traditionally, these career paths take four to six years to complete. With this new program, participants will achieve their goals in roughly one year, significantly reducing the time required to gain advanced skills and certifications.

A New Era of Employee Development
This innovative program is an extension of Sheridan Academy, the company’s comprehensive training and development platform developed and led by Joe Dunlap. Sheridan Academy was established to provide employees with opportunities to grow their careers, enhance their skills, and contribute meaningfully to the organization’s success.

“At Sheridan, we believe our employees are our greatest asset,” said Dunlap. “This grant allows us to invest in their futures while addressing the industry’s need for highly skilled professionals.”

Clear Outcomes and Industry Impact
The program is built on measurable objectives, ensuring participants gain the technical expertise and practical experience required to excel as operators. It reflects Sheridan’s dedication to training the workforce of tomorrow and addressing the labor challenges faced by the manufacturing and printing industries.
