Situation

A small publisher landed in a sticky situation at the height of industry paper issues. Their previous printer was unable to source the stock required for their projects while also being unable to meet their important deadlines. With the school year fast approaching, the publisher needed a quick, cost-effective solution.

Solution

The publisher’s preferred paper stock was difficult to obtain, a challenge compounded by constraints in the industry. After consulting with B&B to determine if their deadline could be met, an alternative stock was presented. B&B’s collection of house paper included a stock differing only slightly in opacity, PPI, and brightness.

Outcome

B&B went to work and successfully met the publisher’s deadline, just in time for the academic year. Additionally, the alternative stock offered by B&B saved the publisher 20% on cost while retaining the quality of their previous stock. They also decided to change to the alternative stock for future orders.
